"Grown Men Cried."
David Thomas says this is THE only pale boys live concert that people need to hear. He says it is as close to perfection as you can get. That is praise indeed... he's not usually so congratulatory.
This album has David Thomas, Andy Diagram and Keith Moliné in Schio (Vicenza- I), Teatro Pasubio, 2004, with the extraordinary (unique?) music that they toured both Europe and the USA with in the early noughties. As this was described as the companion album to Pere Ubu's 'Carnival Of Souls,' it could be considered essential listening for Ubu fans.

In 2004, they would tour their new album "18 Monkeys On A Dead Man's Chest' in 2004. The BBC chose it as Album of the Week for April 5 2004 describing it as "Strange, compelling, terrifying and great." The Wire, April 2004, described it as occupying, "A wider, more disorientating terrain that exists way beyond the stifling, intimate concerns of rock 'n' roll... a feeling of faint existential terror."
This recording is taken from dusty tapes rediscovered during the pandemic, as part of the Unofficial Official Bootleg series that we're doing here on Bandcamp.
