In 1978, Pere Ubu reached European shores for the first time* to promote the release of their first album, The Modern Dance. During this gig, a young Marcus Portée took photos that were to become iconic of the band in their early career. We have now, finally, used them for the artwork of an album with this remastered** recording of that gig, including the previously unheard live track of 'Nonalignment Pact.' This recording is from David Thomas' personal archive, consisting of cassettes and cds dating from 1975, released here as part of the Pere Ubu 'official' bootleg releases exclusive to Bandcamp.
*Gigs on this European tour (and all gigs from 1976) can be viewed via the calendar at ubuprojex.com.
**Remastered in 2021. A different version was available in The Datapanik In The Year Zero box set, 1996.
